Eight years after Ayogya struck a chord with audiences through its mix of comedy, action and chartbuster songs, the team is back with a sequel, and the celebrations have already begun.
The makers of Ayogya 2 unveiled the film's first track, 'Mudd Muddu Putlakshmi', at a grand launch event where the cast and crew reflected on the success of the first film and expressed confidence that the sequel will offer even bigger entertainment.
The launch also revived memories of one of Ayogya's biggest musical hits. The romantic number 'Yenammi Yenammi', featuring Sathish Ninasam and Rachita Ram, became a viral sensation among Kannada audiences and has crossed 126 million views. Directed by Mahesh Kumar, with lyrics by Chetan Kumar, music by Arjun Janya, and vocals by Vijay Prakash and Palak Muchhal, the song remains one of the film's most-loved tracks.
With Ayogya 2, the makers hope to recreate that magic. This time, the romantic track features Sid Sriram and Pruthvi Bhat, bringing a fresh musical flavour while retaining the emotional appeal associated with the franchise.
Music director Arjun Janya, who officially launched the song said the occasion was particularly special.
"In my 22-year career, this is the first time I'm releasing a song as a guest. Pruthvi Bhat has sung it beautifully," he said, recalling his journey with the original Ayogya soundtrack nearly eight years ago.
Director Mahesh Kumar described the sequel as a bigger entertainer. "We are returning after eight years, and I believe this song will bring joy to everyone. Ayogya was loved by audiences, and Ayogya 2 offers even more entertainment," he said.
Lead pair Sathish Ninasam and Rachita Ram thanked lyricist Chetan Kumar and singers Sid Sriram and Pruthvi Bhat for their contribution to the new track. Rachita also reflected on their long-standing on-screen partnership.
"In the process of making a film, there are opinions and arguments. Despite all that, it is wonderful that we have come together for this launch, and we want Ayogya 2 to be a success," she said.
Producer Munegowda, who has backed the film, said the project has already generated strong business buzz. Dialogue writer Masti praised the writing, while actors Shivaraj KR Pete, Manju Pavagada and Kiran Naik said the ensemble cast adds significantly to the film's entertainment quotient.
With promotions now underway and Put Lakshmi offering fans their first taste of the sequel's music, Ayogya 2 is gearing up for its theatrical release on August 14.
