Yash has assured fans that Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups will offer more than just action. Speaking at San Diego Comic-Con, the actor said the Geethu Mohandas directorial vernture includes emotion along with large-scale action.
"It is a roller-coaster. It is deep. It is larger than life. That's the texture of the film. But it is emotional. I think that combination works. I bet people will walk out asking, 'What the hell was that?'" said Yash.
While the teaser has highlighted the film's gritty world and stylised action, Yash asserted that emotion is the catalyst of Toxic's story.
The actor also spoke about his admiration for stunt coordinator JJ Perry, known for his work on the John Wick films. Calling himself an action film fan, Yash said he had long admired Perry's work.
"I love action. I'm a fan of action movies, and I get excited whenever I get to perform action scenes. JJ has done a great job. I've always been inspired by the action sequences he has choreographed," he said.
Yash, however, stressed that action alone was never the team's focus. "For me, emotion with action is important. That's what Toxic is. Every action sequence needs emotion behind it," he said.
He added that the same approach has been followed in Ramayana as well. "Even in Ramayana, you'll see fantastic action. But emotion is equally important," he said.
Directed by Geethu Mohandas, Toxic is produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations. The film also stars Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth, among others. Shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, Toxic will be released worldwide in multiple languages on August 26.
