Bigg Boss Kannada 12 contestant Dhruvanth has approached the Karnataka Cyber Crime Police, alleging sustained online harassment and a coordinated campaign to defame him through fake social media accounts. The actor said the abuse has intensified in recent months and has now sought legal intervention.
Speaking about the complaint, Dhruvanth said he had initially chosen to ignore the trolling but decided to take action after the attacks became persistent. He alleged that abusive posts, defamatory content and fake accounts were being used to target him and damage his reputation.
"I have tolerated this for a long time. Criticism is part of being a public figure, but spreading false information and running a hate campaign crosses the line. I have faith in the law and hope those responsible are identified," he said.
Dhruvanth added that cyberbullying affects not only public personalities but also their families and urged social media users to engage responsibly. He also appealed to fans not to retaliate online and instead allow the authorities to investigate the matter.
The complaint comes months after Dhruvanth's stint on Bigg Boss Kannada 12, where he emerged as one of the season's most talked-about contestants. Since leaving the show, he has continued to remain active on social media, where discussions around his time on the reality series have frequently spilled over into online debates and trolling.
Police are expected to examine the complaint and verify the social media accounts and posts cited by the actor before taking further action. At the time of writing, no official statement has been issued by the police regarding the investigation.
