Director Keerthi Krishnappa, who first directed Andondittu Kaala, has begun work on his second film, Seetha Rama Raju. He announced the start of the shoot on social media, sharing the line, "Devara melu preethiyaguthe, preethiye devaradaga."
The film stars Karthik Mahesh in the lead role and features Priyanka Kumar, known for Bad Manners and Doora Theera Yaana. Actor Ravi Shankar, who plays a police officer, has joined the team as filming begins today.
The makers aim to finish the first schedule in one go in Bengaluru. After a brief break, the team will move to Chikkamagaluru for the next part.
According to the makers, the title reflects the names of the film's three central characters — Seetha, Rama, and Raju. Earlier, the team unveiled an intriguing first-look poster featuring Karthik Mahesh as Rama, seen pushing a vegetable cart while searching for Seetha, hinting at an unconventional love story.
Adding to the interest is Ravi Shankar's character as a police officer. "It's a different kind of role for Ravi Shankar," the team says, adding that Seetha Rama Raju blends emotion, humour, romance, and thriller elements.
Produced by Arun Kumar R under the Matriz Movie Makers banner, the film has dialogues by Kraanthi Kumar, cinematography by Abhilash Kalathi, and music by Raghavendra V. The makers have already completed recording the songs. According to Keerthi Krishnappa, Seetha Rama Raju is a genre-bender with surprises at every turn.
