Kannada actor and former Bigg Boss Kannada contestant Aishwarya Sindogi has filed a police complaint alleging sustained online harassment through abusive and objectionable comments on her social media posts.
According to the complaint, the actor has been receiving derogatory comments on content shared across her social media platforms. She has also named a person known to her in connection with the case.
Aishwarya has alleged that the individual had previously threatened her, leading to an earlier police case. She now claims that abusive comments are being posted through fake social media accounts and has urged the police to investigate the accounts and take appropriate action.
Based on her complaint, an FIR has been registered at the Sanjaynagar Police Station, and an investigation is underway.
Incidents of online harassment targeting women actors have surfaced repeatedly in the Kannada film industry. In recent months, actors Ramya and Vijayalakshmi Darshan, wife of actor Darshan, also reported receiving abusive comments on social media.
In those cases, the Cyber Crime Police investigated the complaints, identified individuals allegedly responsible for posting the offensive comments, and made arrests.
The latest complaint by Aishwarya Sindogi once again draws attention to the issue of online abuse faced by public figures and the growing role of law enforcement in addressing harassment on digital platforms.
