The makers of Celebrity, starring debutant Ashwin and Elumale actor Priyanka Achar, have completed the filming of a romantic melody in the scenic town of Melukote. Choreographed by Jani Master, the couple's song is billed as one of the key highlights of the film, which is currently progressing at a brisk pace.
Produced by Sara Mahesh and Sushma Ashwin under the Gowri Arts banner, Celebrity marks Ashwin's acting debut in Kannada cinema. Directed by Kiran Vishwanath, the film features Priyanka Achar in the role of Siri, a YouTuber.
Speaking about the song, Jani Master said working with newcomers gives choreographers greater creative freedom. "Established stars come with an image that has to be maintained. With newcomers, you can experiment more because they are willing to put in the effort. Ashwin rehearsed for this song for four days and is an extremely hardworking actor," he said, adding that the team had been waiting for over a year to collaborate with him.
Ashwin revealed that the team had always envisioned filming the romantic number in Melukote. "I've always admired Jani Master, and it was exciting to work with him. Audiences can expect some interesting hook steps, though he never makes choreography easy. The song is all about the hero expressing his admiration for the heroine," he said.
Priyanka Achar described Celebrity as a special project and praised both the team and the production house. "I play Siri, a YouTuber. We conducted workshops before filming, which really helped us. Ashwin is a dedicated co-star, and today's shoot was for a song centred around my character. Dancing to Jani Master's choreography has been a wonderful experience," she said.
The film is presented by Suresh Babu CB and also marks the Kannada comeback of actress Sangeetha, best known for Yaare Neenu Cheluve, after several years. The technical team includes music composer Gummineeni Vijay, stunt choreographer Ravi Varma, art director Guna, and lyricist Aniruddh Shastry.
