Ramenahalli Jagannath’s Teertharoopa Tandeyavarige, produced by Jaichamundeshwari Productions, stole the spotlight in the Kannada Competition section at the 17th Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFes). Starring Nihar Mukesh in the lead alongside Rachana Inder, the film received warm applause from audiences and critics, reaffirming its appeal as a heartfelt family drama.

Speaking after the screening, director Ramenahalli Jagannath said, “Our film, which released at the start of the New Year, has been well received both by viewers and critics. Veteran actor Sitara returns to the screen after many years, and actors Ajith Hande and Rajesh Nataranga deliver memorable performances. It’s a proud moment for us to have the film featured in the competition section. Hearing that audiences appreciated a strong family-oriented story after a long time was very rewarding.”

Lead actor Nihar Mukesh expressed his delight, saying, “It’s special to have my first Kannada film screened at such a prestigious festival.”

Rachana Inder, who also has another film at this year’s BIFFes, said, “The appreciation for Teertharoopa Tandeyavarige has been overwhelming. It’s heartening to see audiences connect with the story and characters.”

Actor Ajith Hande highlighted the film’s message, noting, “Film festivals select quality cinema, and I’m proud to be part of a project that emphasizes family values. The narrative resonates with viewers, and that makes my work on this film truly fulfilling.”

With its heartfelt performances and relatable storytelling, Teertharoopa Tandeyavarige has emerged as one of the festival’s crowd-pleasers, demonstrating the continued strength of family-centric Kannada cinema on festival platforms too.
