Kannada actor Kichcha Sudeep has marked the memory of his late mother, Saroja Sanjeeva, with a gesture aimed at supporting families in need. As part of the initiative, the actor donated autorickshaws to four economically disadvantaged beneficiaries, offering them a means to earn a livelihood.
Among those who received the vehicles is Pavithra, who has been raising her two children on her own since the death of her husband in 2017. With her daughter studying in Class 10 and her younger son aged four, managing the family's expenses without a steady income had become a challenge. The autorickshaw is expected to provide her with a source of regular income.
The initiative also extended support to Mrityunjaya from Hubballi, a fan of late Kannada star Vishnuvardhan who has been involved in several social service activities. According to reports, he has organised more than 50 social programmes inspired by his admiration for the actor. Despite his involvement in such activities, he was facing financial difficulties and has now been provided with an autorickshaw to help him earn a living.
Another recipient is veteran stunt artiste Fighter Basavaraj, who has been part of the Kannada film industry for several years. Having reportedly worked in over 900 films, Basavaraj has also shared screen-industry associations with Sudeep across several projects. With limited work in recent times and financial difficulties, the autorickshaw is intended to give him an alternative and more stable source of income.
The fourth vehicle was given to the family of Sudeep's mother's acquaintance, late Sai Madhu, who passed away following a brain stroke about a year ago. He is survived by two young daughters, currently studying in Classes 3 and 6. Following his death, their grandfather had been supporting the family by driving a rented autorickshaw. Sudeep's gesture will enable the family to own a vehicle and use it as a source of livelihood.
Sudeep has often been associated with philanthropic initiatives, and this latest effort serves as a tribute to his mother while extending practical support to families facing financial hardship.
