The Komal Kumar and Sonal Monteiro-starrer Rolex brings together comedy, romance and suspense, with Vinod Prabhakar joining the film in a special yet important role. The film also features Achyuth Kumar, Aruna Balaraj, Naveen Padil and Rana.
The film’s teaser was recently unveiled, offering a glimpse of Komal in a different role. For Vinod, Rolex also has a personal connection. He credits Sonal for helping him land the part. “After Maadeva, I am working with Sonal again in Rolex. She is the reason I got this opportunity. It is an important role, and I believe this will be a film that the whole family can watch together,” says Vinod.
Sonal, who is paired with Komal, says the film has allowed her to attempt a character she has not played before. She also describes working with Komal as a learning experience.
“This is my first film with Komal Kumar. Collaborating with him was a great experience, and I would like to work with him again. Vinod Prabhakar is one of my closest friends, and his character has come out well. I am also playing a role that I have never attempted before,” she says.
For Komal, Rolex is the kind of film he had been looking for after Mr Garagasa. “I was looking for a story like Rolex after Mr Garagasa. I finally found a role like that here. Director Srinivas has made the film according to what the story needed. I am also happy to share the screen with Vinod,” he says.
Director Srinivas Mandya describes Rolex as a family entertainer that combines comedy and romance with suspense. He says Komal has carried the film with his performance.
Producer Ambati Madhu Mohan Krishna, who has entered Kannada cinema from Telugu, says the film came together with the support of the entire team. He believes cinema has no language or geographical boundaries and expects Rolex to connect with family audiences.
