A small moment from Yash’s appearance on Aap Ki Adalat stood out when host Rajat Sharma referred to 'Kannada' as 'Kannad'. Yash took no time to correct him. “Sir, it is Kannada,” he said.

Rajat Sharma took the correction in good humour and repeated the word correctly. Yash then carried on with the conversation.

I’m still a Shah Rukh Khan fan: Yash

It may seem like a small correction, but “Kannad” is a pronunciation Kannada speakers have been hearing and correcting for years. Yash, too, has been particular about getting the pronunciation right on earlier occasions.

The exchange happened during Yash’s appearance on the show, where he spoke about his career, his films and his growing presence beyond the Kannada film industry. He also spoke in Hindi during the conversation, which drew appreciation from Rajat Sharma.

There was no fuss around the correction. Yash heard it, corrected it and moved on. And perhaps that was the point. He did not need to make a speech about Kannada. He simply wanted the language to be called by its right name.
