For Yash, Toxic was never going to be another star vehicle, as he explained while launching the trailer in Bengaluru ahead of the film's release on August 26. The actor feels that patience, conviction along with the trust of the people involved in making the film were crucial elements for the project’s success.

The first person he credited to was the film’s director Geetu Mohandas, and mentioned that while most people would have applauded the superstar’s success, Yash spoke about Geetu’s passion and belief in making this film come to fruition.

Yash said, “She has been working towards it for long and has the conviction of delivering the kind of movie she wants to make. Passion is never a wasted energy, it is one of the mantras that guided us through the process,” he added.

Toxic, according to the actor, is a culmination of hard work and devotion over a period of time. He feels that when people put their heart and soul into a venture, it is only a matter of time before it reaches the masses.

“People have dedicated their lives to this project and have put in all their efforts to make it happen. It is only fitting that it connects with the audience the way it is supposed to,” he added.

Yash later spoke about the faith reposed by the film’s producer Venkat K Narayana in the project, which gave the team the much-needed morale boost during the long production schedule.

“Making a film is like going to war; nothing goes as scheduled. There are hurdles at every step, be it logistical issues or shoots getting postponed due to weather conditions,” he added.

Toxic, which took almost two years to make, was shot in two languages simultaneously.

“Venkat always gave us his full support and never questioned us about taking up such a task. He has been patient enough to let us do what we wanted to do and make the movie the way we wanted to make it,” he concluded. For Yash, the belief shown by Geetu Mohandas and Venkat K Narayana in the project was vital for its success from day one.
