

Actor Aryn Santhosh, known for films like Dear Satya and Nuru Janmakku, is directing for the first time. The teaser launch of his debut film, Chenkol, was held recently. Actor Prajwal Devaraj and Anand Guruji attended the event and expressed their support for the team.
After the teaser launch, Prajwal Devaraj said the teaser looks great. He praised the technical work behind the film, noting that Aryn’s dedication has shaped his journey in cinema. “He has been working for years now and approaches every project with sincerity and focus. The teaser looks very interesting, and the team behind it is strong. For any director, having a good crew is vital, and that clearly shows here,” he mentioned.
Aryn Santhosh, who also stars in the film, explained that the idea for Chenkol came during a trip with friends to the forests of Wayanad in Kerala. “We found a Shiva Linga there, and that moment sparked the story. I am directing and acting in this film,” he said.
The film to be out in Kannada and Malalayalam, features Manasvi Manu, Sharanya, Akshitha Bopaiah, and Pooja Shetty in key roles. It is produced by Winter Bridge Studios and Pixel Originals. Chenkol is described as a fantasy drama.
The supporting cast includes Aruna Balraj, Sundar Veena, Aravind Rao, Mysore Nanda, Raghu, Sachin, Vijay, Vamshi Uday, and Mahantesh Hiremath.
On the technical side, the film has cinematography by Vipin D Raj, editing by Umesh, and a background score by Manikanth Kadri. The music is composed by All OK, Joe Costa, and Gautam Das, with lyrics by Pramod Maravanthe.
Chenkol is being made in two parts. The first part has already finished shooting and is ready for release. The term “Chenkol” refers to a royal sceptre, symbolizing authority and power.
The first part follows DJ Santu’s journey to Chenkol Hill, while the second part will delve into the story of King Agastya, set 1,500 years ago. The film has been shot in Kerala, Chikkamagaluru, Bengaluru, and parts of Tamil Nadu.
