Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah recently released the title song of the Kannada film Sarkari Nyaya Bele Angadi at a formal event. The film, starring Ragini Dwivedi in the lead, centres on the functioning of government-run fair price shops and the larger public distribution system. The makers used the occasion to present the film’s theme, which reflects everyday realities linked to subsidised food supply and access for economically weaker sections.
Addressing the gathering, Siddaramaiah said cinema remains an effective medium to communicate social concerns to a wide audience. He noted that stories rooted in real-life issues can contribute to public awareness and discussion. Referring to the subject of the film, he added that while welfare schemes are designed to benefit people, lapses in implementation are often reported, and such themes merit attention.
The film features a supporting cast that includes Kumar Bangarappa and Doddanna. It is produced by Teju Murthy and Padmavathi Chandrashekhar under the Jayashankar Talkies banner. B Ramamurthy has written the story, screenplay and dialogues, while direction and cinematography are handled by Sathvik Pavan Kumar. Music for the film is composed by Ananth Aryan.
According to the team, the film was shot over a period of 52 days in and around Mandya. With post-production nearing completion, Sarkari Nyaya Bele Angadi is getting ready for release, and the title song launch marks one of the promotional steps before the film moves towards its theatrical run.
