Anurag Kashyap believes that adult content goes beyond just sexuality. While discussing Toxic, starring Yash, he provides a viewpoint that goes beyond the hype surrounding the film's tagline, 'A fairy tale for grown-ups'.

During a recent visit to Bengaluru, Anurag Kashyap shared insights about this much-anticipated project and what audiences can truly expect. “When we say ‘grown-ups,’ it doesn’t mean it is about sex,” he stated. “It involves deeper, bold, and mature storytelling that resonates with adults in a different way.”

Kashyap’s perspective on Toxic is important. He has a creative partnership with director Geetu Mohandas, having produced her earlier film Moothon. This connection gives him a unique viewpoint. “I know Geetu very well. I have been following Toxic, and I even know what the script is. I loved the teaser. It is bold and striking,” he remarked.

What excites Kashyap the most is the connection between Geetu Mohandas' vision and Yash's participation. “She has absolute clarity on what she wants to do, and with Yash on board, they are bringing that vision to life in a unique way,” he explained.

The excitement around Toxic has increased after its presentation at CinemaCon 2026, where a nine-minute preview suggested a polished, large-scale production with international appeal.

Earlier, Yash hinted at the film’s plot, describing it as a wild gangster drama set in a captivating historical period after 1947, when Goa was still under Portuguese rule until 1961. At its heart is a gripping father-son revenge story within this context.

If Kashyap's comments hold true, Toxic, set to release on June 4, will deliver a genre-bending narrative, where ‘adult’ suggests complexity rather than just provocation.
