A behind-the-scenes video of Challenging Star Darshan struggling with severe back pain while filming The Devil has gone viral, reigniting discussions about the actor’s health and ongoing legal troubles.
Darshan, who had earlier been granted bail in the Chitradurga Renukaswamy murder case on medical grounds, was known to be battling a recurring back injury. After his release, he underwent treatment but avoided surgery. Now, fresh footage from the sets of The Devil has surfaced, showing the star visibly in pain, lending weight to long-circulating concerns about his health.
The viral clip from the film directed by Prakash Veer, captures Darshan attempting to perform a scene where he lifts the heroine (Rachana Rai) only to be overcome by back pain. Crew members are seen rushing to spread a cloth on the floor, where the actor lies down in discomfort. Despite his condition, fans point out that Darshan continued shooting, hailing his commitment.
This revelation comes just weeks after The Devil’s writer Kantharaj spoke in an interview about how the actor endured excruciating pain during production.
The resurfaced video has left fans emotional, particularly as Darshan now faces a setback with the Supreme Court revoking his earlier bail, sending him back to prison.
The Devil backed by Shri Jaimatha Combines, in association with Saregama and Yoodlee Films, is slated for a December 12 release. The film also features Sharmiela Mandre, Achyuth Kumar, Chandu Gowda, Vinay Gowda, and Mahesh Manjrekar in pivotal roles. The film's music is by Ajaneesh Loknath, and cinematography is by Sudhakar S Raj.
