For over five decades, Sri Raghavendra Chitravani has stood as a vital bridge in Kannada cinema, a place where producers, directors, technicians, and journalists found trust, connection, and continuity. Founded by the late and legendary publicist DV Sudheendra, the institution became synonymous with credibility and heartfelt service to the film fraternity.
Now, the legacy takes a meaningful turn. Senior Kannada film publicist Sudheendra Venkatesh, who has spent years nurturing the same spirit, steps into film production. And beside him is his son, Pavan Venkatesh, stepping behind the camera as writer-director of the short film, First Salary. The film’s poster, unveiled recently, carries a tender tagline -The Path of Dreams.
Under the same banner that once produced cult favourites like Olavina Udugore, Ganeshana Maduve, Gundana Maduve, Pattanakke Banda Putta, and Nagu Nagutha Nali, First Salary marks a new beginning.
First Salary is described as a family-oriented, emotionally rich short film that captures a mother’s sentiment, the kind of quiet, heartfelt story that mirrors everyday life. Director Pavan Venkatesh, who earlier created short films like Karala Roga Naasha during the pandemic, calls this project his most personal work yet.
For the Venkatesh family, First Salary is a continuation of what Sri Raghavendra Chitravani always stood for: nurturing talent, preserving values, and celebrating the emotion that binds the Kannada film industry together.
