Venkat Bharadwaj, who has recently completed his film Hey Prabhu, has released the movie’s first single, ‘Eddeyelo Iga’, on the Tips Kannada YouTube channel. The song has already drawn attention from audiences within hours of its release.
Sung by Tejaswi Haridas, the track conveys themes of aspiration, self-confidence, and perseverance. “This song reflects the spirit of struggle and belief in oneself,” said Venkat Bharadwaj, emphasising the inspirational core of the composition. The lyrics, penned by Arasu Antare, combined with Danny Anderson’s musical arrangement, create a motivational piece that connects with listeners across age groups.
Directed by Venkat Bharadwaj, Hey Prabhu features an ensemble cast including Jay Vardhan, Sanhita Vinya, Yamuna Srinidhi, Gajanana Hegde, Lakshman Shivashankar, Dr. Pramod, and Hari Dhananjay. Based on true events, the film is a joint production of Amruth Film Center and 24 Reels, and is presented by Dr Sudhakar Shetty
Bharadwaj said, “Hey Prabhu is an example of Indian cinema with a conscience. We wanted to make a project that reflects social responsibility and addresses the challenges ordinary people face.” The film critically explores the influence of pharmaceutical companies and the ethical dilemmas surrounding profit-driven practices. In light of recent controversies involving children’s cough syrup, Hey Prabhu examines the impact of corporate greed on public health and everyday lives.
Beyond its social commentary, the film’s technical aspects have been carefully curated. The compilation is handled by Shameek V Bharadwaj, dialogues by Lakshman Shivashankar, Praveen, and Venkat Bharadwaj, with cinematography by Pramod Bharadwaj. Co-direction and additional performances are contributed by Indian and Laurence Preetham.
“With its meaningful story and music that touches the audience, Hey Prabhu is designed to inspire viewers to stand firm, believe in themselves, and face challenges courageously," Bharadwaj added.
The first single, ‘Eddeyelo Iga’, explains this message, setting the tone for the film’s release and its socially conscious narrative.
