The upcoming web series Marigallu, jointly produced by Zee5 and PRK Productions, has unveiled its trailer, offering a glimpse into a world where belief and folklore intertwine with human emotion. The series, set to premiere on October 31, explores the delicate intersection between faith, greed, and destiny through a story deeply rooted in Karnataka’s heritage.

Set in the 1990s, Marigallu unfolds in a fictional village near Sirsi, where a group of young men set out in search of a lost treasure from the Kadamba dynasty. What begins as a thrilling adventure gradually transforms into a layered exploration of human nature, desires, fears, and the unseen forces that shape lives. The narrative blends the mystical with the real, creating a story that feels both timeless and contemporary.

Veteran actors Rangayana Raghu and Gopal Krishna Deshpande make their web debut in Marigallu, alongside Praveen Tej, AS Sooraj, Prashanth Siddi, and television actor Ninad Hrithsa. Several local theatre performers from Sirsi also feature in the series, grounding it in authenticity and regional texture.

The project is directed by Devaraj Poojary, who has written and directed the series, with Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar producing it under the PRK Productions banner.

Marigallu is deeply rooted in Karnataka’s soil,” says Devaraj Poojar. “It’s a story about belief, greed, and the unseen forces that shape human destiny. Set against Sirsi’s cultural rituals and the Beda Vesha tradition, the series brings together nature, folk art, and spirituality. Every frame carries the emotion of devotion and fear, reflecting the mysteries that live within our culture.”

For Zee5 Kannada’s Business Head, Deepak Sriramulu, the series reinforces the platform’s storytelling ethos.

Marigallu captures our belief in ‘Our Language, Our Stories’. It’s an extraordinary blend of divine folklore, mystery, and humour that celebrates Karnataka’s storytelling tradition. We are confident it will resonate across languages and audiences,” he shares.

Producer Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar describes Marigallu as a continuation of PRK’s commitment to stories that speak from the heart of Karnataka.

“This series is special because it extends PRK’s vision of bringing strong, rooted stories to larger audiences. Marigallu reflects faith, emotion, and culture in a way that connects tradition with today’s sensibilities. Working with Zee5 on this project has been rewarding — together, we’re presenting a story that truly mirrors the heart of our land.”
