Rishab Shetty's Kantara: Chapter 1 has been continuing its successful run in theatres, with reports saying that the film has crossed the 300-crore mark at the global box office. Amid all the commercial success, the film has also won over many fans, critics, and audiences. The latest to join the Kantara fan club is Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh. Taking to X, Riteish said that he saw the Kantara prequel on an IMAX screen, which he describes as "a larger than life" experience for an Indian film. The actor then went on to praise Kantara star and director Rishab Shetty. Referring to the National Award winner, Riteish wrote, "You are just phenomenal in everything you do, be it as an actor, a writer and a director, your performance is one that will inspire generations."
According to Riteish, the film excelled in departments such as VFX, action choreography, cinematography, sound design, background music, and production design. He also described Kantara: Chapter 1 star Rukmini Vasanth as "an incredible actor," besides giving a shout out to Gulshan Devaiah whose "evilness" he found "intoxicatingly brilliant".
Riteish concluded his post by congratulating the Kantara prequel's producer "Hombale Films for making path breaking cinema and the entire team for this blockbuster success."
Rukmini, Gulshan, and Rishab expressed their gratitude to Riteish for his words of appreciation for the film and their performances in it.
In our Kantara: Chapter 1 movie review, A Sharadhaa wrote that the film "spreads awe across multiple events" and that it "shines more in its scope than in depth" in comparisons to the 2022 original.
