Challenging Star Darshan’s The Devil is set for a grand release on December 12. With Darshan currently in a legal tussle, the film arrives in theatres without his presence. In his absence, his wife Vijayalakshmi has stepped forward to lead the promotions, carrying his message to fans across the state.
Addressing fans at a recent gathering, Vijayalakshmi shared a heartfelt message from Darshan. She said he had personally asked her to remind fans to stay calm and continue the affection they’ve always shown. “He said the love and support you have given him so far means everything. For this film, he hopes you will support just a little more,” she told them.
She also expressed gratitude to the production house for standing by the family through a difficult phase. “They never made us feel like it was a separate production house. They understood our situation and stood with us throughout. Not once did they step back. We are truly grateful to Prakash’s family,” she said.
Speaking about The Devil, Vijayalakshmi said she loves all the songs and hinted at a twist hidden in one of them—something best experienced on the big screen. The makers have released three songs from the film—'Idre Nemdiyag Irbek', 'Onde Ondu Sala', and the latest, 'Alohomora'—all of which have become instant hits. “Darshan looks wonderful in the film. Even through everything he faced, he worked with complete dedication. We need everyone’s support and your love,” she said, adding that this film needs a little more love from all of them.
The Devil directed by Prakash Veer, produced under the Shri Jaimatha Combines, in assocation with Saregama, stars Rachana Rai as the female lead, with Mahesh Manjrekar as the antagonist, along with Achyuth Kumar, Shobaraj, Tulasi Shivamani, Roger Narayan, Sharmiela Mandre, Gilli actor and Srinivas Prabhu in key roles. Music is composed by Ajaneesh Loknath in his first collaboration with Darshan, with Sudhakar S Raj handling cinematography.
