Taane, an emotional crime drama, is gearing up for a theatrical release on May 30. Produced under the banner of PCD 2 Film Factory by Gayathri M and helmed by S Bhagat Raj, the upcoming film stars theatre artist-turned-lead actor Praveen in a pivotal role. The film's trailer was recently unveiled at a special event by veteran theatre artist Malathi Sudhir, and also saw the presence of Kannada Sahitya Parishat Secretary Santosh Hanagal, who attended as the chief guest, lending an air of cultural significance to the occasion.
Speaking about the film at the event, director Bhagat Raj said, “Thaane means police station. The entire plot unfolds within this setting and follows a complex case involving four main characters. The story weaves in themes of familial relationships—father-son and brother-sister bonds—alongside a heartfelt love story. It’s an emotional thriller with the tagline C/O Srirampura, pointing to its deep connection to the locale.”
Actor Praveen, who portrays the character Kaali, expressed his excitement and gratitude. “Coming from a theatre background, playing the lead in Taane is a huge milestone for me." The film, distributed by Vijay, has cinematography by Prashanth Sagar, editing by Suresh Urs, and music by Manasa Holla. The ensemble cast also includes Rohith Nagesh, and PD Satish Chandra, among others.
