Director-actor AT Raghu passes away
AT Raghu, the director best known for the 1994 film Mandyada Gandu, has died. According to reports, he was 75. Raghu, who collaborated with actor Ambareesh on many films, had been experiencing age-related health issues for the last few years.
Raghu started his film career under filmmaker B Vittalacharya, and he subsequently worked under YR Swamy, who collaborated with Dr Rajkumar on films such as Bhakta Kanakadasa, Paropakari, and Sipayi Ramu. Later, he made his debut with Nyaya Neethi Dharma (1980).
Apart from Mandyada Gandu, Raghu's works include Kadina Raja, Avala Neralu, Shankar Sundar, Inspector Krantikumar, and Aasha. He has also acted in many films, including some featuring Ambareesh. His directorial projects outside of Kannada include the Hindi feature Meri Adalat, starring Rajinikanth, and the Malayalam film Kaattu Rani, featuring Shankar and Unnimary.
