Ekka, starring Yuvarajkumar, is all set for a theatrical release on July 18. Marking the actor’s second film after Yuva, Ekka is directed by Rohit Padaki and stands out not just for its cast and compelling premise, but also for being a joint venture by three prominent production houses — PRK Productions, Jayanna Films, and KRG Studios. At a recent media interaction with the Ekka team, the makers revealed their promotional plans, having already created a buzz with the teaser and songs, particularly the high-energy number 'Bangale Bangari.' The event was attended by the film’s lead cast and crew, including Yuvarajkumar and director Rohit Padaki.

One of the key highlights of the film is the unique collaboration between the three production houses. Producer Karthik Gowda explained the reason behind this collaboration, saying it wasn’t just about money but about the exchange of ideas and daily creative discussions between producers like Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, Jayanna, and Bogendra. “We believe this kind of collaboration is the future of cinema,” he said, adding that the production houses are also open to teaming up with fresh faces and upcoming talents in the future. Originally scheduled for a June 6 release, Ekka was postponed by a month to allow the team more time to fine-tune the final output. “We want to ensure everything is perfect. If the product is strong, audiences will definitely walk into theatres,” Karthik added.

The actor, meanwhile, reflected on the responsibility that comes with such a large-scale production. “Yes, I feel happy and lucky to have their support, but at the same time, I know I have to deliver as an actor,” said Yuvarajkumar. “If I appear on screen and don’t perform, will the audience accept me? Ultimately, it’s the audience who gives us the thumbs-up. We can’t cheat them. Only if I do well will they lift me up — otherwise, they won’t.” Yuvarajkumar also reiterated his confidence in the film by emphasising how it will appeal to audiences across all age groups. Director Rohit Padaki, known for his grounded storytelling, described Ekka as a complete commercial entertainer that blends action, emotion, and family values — crafted with a strong mass appeal. “When you want to make a good film, you need a solid base. Every bit of content we’ve released so far reflects the fun and emotion we’ve put into it. I believe that emotion will be felt by the audience too,” he said. The film stars Sanjana Anand and Sampada as female leads opposite Yuvarajkumar and features a supporting cast that includes Atul Kulkarni, Deadly Aditya, Sadhu Kokila, Jolly Jack, Puneeth Rudranag, Dr Suri, Harini, Shruti, and Rahul Dev Shetty.

Charan Raj, who has composed the music for the film, said, “It’s been a joy working on this film." On the progress of his work, the composer added, "Right now, we’re working on the background score. The audience’s positive reaction to our content so far is really heartening.” The technical team of Ekka also includes cinematographer Satya Hegde.
