Ganesh, who created a buzz with his last film Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi, is currently shooting for Yours Sincerely Ram, directed by Vikhyath, which also stars Ramesh Aravind. Meanwhile, the actor is said to be simultaneously gearing up for his next project, Pinaka. Ganesh, who is currently taking a short break for the Celebrity Cricket League, is expected to begin shooting for Pinaka in the first week of March. This film marks the directorial debut of dance choreographer-turned-director Dhananjay, and will be produced by TG Vishwaprasad and TG Krithi Prasad under the People Media Factory.
While the full cast details have been kept under wraps, CE has learnt that Nayan Sarika, who gained attention with Telugu films like KA and Aay, has been finalised as the female lead. Pinaka would mark her Kannada debut, but an official confirmation is awaited from team on her inclusion. Nayan is also part of the Mohanlal-starrer pan-India film Vrushabha, directed by Nanda Kishore.
The makers of Pinaka have already created a buzz with the recently released title teaser, which offers a glimpse of Ganesh in a never-before-seen avatar. This film, which marks Ganesh's first collaboration with the director and the production house, will be a bilingual project made in both Kannada and Telugu. In a previous interview during the title teaser launch, Ganesh mentioned that the film would be a fusion of tradition and innovation and would be in stark contrast to his usual romantic hero portrayals. More information on the cast and technical team is yet to be revealed. The film will feature cinematography by Hari K Vedantam and art direction by Santhosh Panchal.
