We had earlier reported about the Yash-starrer Toxic being a bilingual film to be shot simultaneously in English and Kannada. Now, the makers have officially confirmed the same. Additionally, the film will be dubbed in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam, and some international languages.
Speaking about the film, its writer-director Geetu Mohandas said, "Our vision for Toxic was to craft a narrative that resonates authentically with audiences both in India and globally. We've strived to capture the essence of the story in both Kannada and English, ensuring an authentic experience for viewers across different linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Toxic blends artistic vision with commercial storytelling, creating a journey that transcends borders and languages to connect with hearts and minds across the globe."
Produced by Venkat Narayana under KVN Productions and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the film's international team includes action sequences by JJ Perry, known for his work on John Wick and the Fast and Furious franchise, along with visual effects by DNEG, the studio behind the BAFTA Award-winning effects for Dune: Part Two.
On Rocking Star Yash’s birthday, the team released a special "Birthday Peek," showcasing the film’s grandeur and production values.
The film’s bilingual nature has necessitated extensive preparation and a prolonged shooting schedule, with filming beginning in August 2024. This effort, combined with the integration of global and Indian talent, has contributed to the project’s immense scale and extended production timeline, making Toxic one of the most expensive Indian productions to date.
Producer Venkat K Narayana shared his enthusiasm for the film’s global aspirations, saying, "Our goal for Toxic has been clear from the start: to create a film that resonates deeply with audiences in India and globally. From the very beginning, we believed in the power of this story and its immense potential. This conviction led us to fully embrace the challenge of bringing this cinematic experience to life. We are confident that Toxic will not only captivate audiences worldwide but will also showcase the brilliance of Indian cinema on a global stage."
