The makers, who recently completed shooting and have now moved into post-production, have also wrapped up the dubbing process. They are likely to announce the film’s release date around Ganesh Chaturthi.
Challenging Star Darshan is all set to give his fans a musical treat this Independence Day. The team behind his much-awaited film The Devil, directed by Prakash Veer and co-starring Rachana Rai, has announced that the first single, 'Idre Nemdiyaag Irbek', will be unveiled on August 15.
Reuniting Darshan and Prakash Veer after Tarak, the film has been generating strong buzz ever since it was announced. With filming completed and post-production underway, the stage is now set for the music rollout.
The song opens with the now-famous line 'Idre Namdiyagi Irbeku', which became a social media sensation long before the movie’s release. This viral phrase has inspired both the title and lyrics of the track. Music for The Devil is composed by Ajaneesh Loknath, marking his first collaboration with Darshan. Known for his impactful scores across Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu cinema, Ajaneesh brings a fresh musical flavour to the star’s filmography, raising high expectations for the album. Interestingly, the audio rights of the film have been bagged by the SaReGaMa music label right at the initiation of the project.
The August 15 release holds added significance for fans — it comes nearly 20 months after the last song from a Darshan film was released. The team has hinted that the film’s release date will be revealed during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival season, with industry talk pointing to an October theatrical release.
The Devil features an ensemble cast including Achyuth Kumar, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sharmiela Mandre, Chandu Gowda, and Vinay Gowda. Cinematography is by Sudhakar S Raj, who previously worked with Darshan on Roberrt and Kaatera.
With a viral hook line, a fresh music pairing, and a festive-season release plan, The Devil is shaping up to be one of the most eagerly awaited films in Darshan’s career — and the Independence Day single is set to be its first spark.
