Aishani, known for her work as both an actor and singer, is now donning a new hat — that of a producer. The artiste, who is currently working on her directorial debut, has announced that she will also be bankrolling the project under her newly launched production house, Shakunthale Cinemas.
The name Shakunthale, she reveals, holds deep personal meaning. “Ever since my song ‘Shaakuntle Sikkalu’, from the film, Naduve Antaravirali, the audience has fondly called me Shakunthale. I wanted to honour that connection and carry that love into this new phase,” she shares in her announcement.
Aishani, who has long expressed her love for storytelling, says the decision came naturally as she grew with the script. “As I travelled with the story, it began to lead me somewhere new. I thought — wouldn’t it be wonderful to produce this film myself? After much thought, I made a decision that feels both bold and right,” she states. With this move, Aishani joins a growing list of artists in the Kannada film industry who are taking creative control of their visions by stepping into production.
While further details about the film are under wraps, Aishani expresses that she is both “elated and nervous” about the dual responsibility. “This is a new journey, a new beginning, and a new responsibility. But I stand with courage and strength, knowing that I have the love and support of my audience,” she adds.
