After weaving musical magic in Kannada cinema, composer Charan Raj is now set to make his Telugu debut. Known for his rich and textured soundtracks in acclaimed films like Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu, Tagaru, Salaga, Bheema, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello, and more recently Ekka, Charan has built a strong reputation for blending emotion, experimentation, and mass appeal in his music.
He now brings his talent to the Telugu industry with a project backed by two major banners—Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, the latter being the production house founded by celebrated director Sukumar. The yet-to-be-titled film marks the directorial debut of Madhuri Bandreddi, a filmmaker who has previously worked with directors Gautham Vasudev Menon and Sukumar.
Charan, known for pushing the envelope with every album, will begin composing for the film in the next one-and-a-half months.
Back home in Kannada cinema, Charan Raj has a lineup of upcoming projects. He is collaborating with director Hemanth M Rao for 666 Operation Dream Theatre and is scoring music for Kurka, a mystery crime drama directed by Ganesh Hegde and starring Natesh Hegde. His other upcoming projects include Mango Pachha, Marnavami, and City Lights, directed by Vijay Kumar. He is also reuniting with director Suri, reviving a creative partnership that earlier delivered the cult soundtrack of Tagaru.
