After playing a match-winning innings against his former team Royal Challengers Bengaluru the other day, Delhi Capitals' batter KL Rahul did a celebration straight out of Rishab Shetty's Kantara. The scene, which Rahul recreated, comes at the end of the Rishab Shetty starrer. He moved his bat along the ground in circular fashion and stamped it into the ground before pointing his finger at himself. Explaining it after the match, Rahul said, "This is a special place for me. That celebration was from one of my favourite movies, Kantara. So, ya, just a tiny reminder that this ground, this turf, this home is where I have grown up and that this is mine."

This is not the first time an international cricketer made a reference to a well-known Indian film. For example, David Warner is popular among the IPL audience for dancing like Allu Arjun from the 'Srivalli' song in Pushpa: The Rule or recreating the 'Thaggede Le' moment from the same film. Moreover, Nitish Kumar Reddy celebrated his recent Test 50 in Australia against the Australian Cricket Team in the same 'Thaggede Le' fashion.

Coming back to Kantara, a prequel to the film is in development, with Rishab at the helm. The actor has immersed himself in a year-long training in Kalaripayattu as part of preparation for the role.
