All eyes are on Sriimurali, the Ugramm actor (2014), who will next star in the action-packed film Bagheera. Directed by Dr Suri from a story by Prashanth Neel, this is yet another Kannada film releasing in multiple languages. Bagheers is produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda under the Hombale Films banner. The film is set to release worldwide in theaters on October 31 around the festive occasion of Deepavali. Ahead of the release, the makers launched the film’s theatrical trailer on Monday.
The 2-minute-35-second long trailer begins with a serious and meaningful conversation between a mother and her son. She explains that when humans face darkness, divinity can take on many forms. She goes on to say that it's not only God who appears, and that sometimes a demon can arise as well. In this context, we meet Bagheera, a masked figure fighting against criminals. While the locals see him as a god-like protector, the police view him as a lawbreaker. According to Prashanth Neel, "Writing this vigilante story for Bagheera allowed me to explore themes of justice, sacrifice, and the gray areas of morality. I hope it engages viewers and prompts them to reflect on what they would do in the face of injustice."
Producer Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films, known for KGF and Kantara, shared his excitement: "Today, we’re thrilled to launch the trailer for Bagheera. This vigilante tale probes into the complexities of justice and the power of one individual's fight against injustice. We hope it resonates with audiences and ignites conversations about right and wrong."
Chaluve Gowda, who is co-producing the film with Vijay Kiragandur, added, "This film captures the raw intensity of one person’s quest for justice, and we believe it will resonate deeply with audiences. It's a powerful story that challenges our perceptions of right and wrong, and we can't wait for everyone to experience it."
Director Dr Suri, returning after a break since Lucky (2012), shared his description of the film: "Bagheera is a gripping story that challenges the boundaries of justice. This film explores the lengths one will go to protect what they love, and we can't wait for audiences to join us on this intense journey."
In the film, Sriimurali showcases his talent in dual roles as both a police officer and the masked vigilante Bagheera, while Rukmini Vasanth plays his love interest. The trailer also features notable actors like Prakash Raj, Rangayana Raghu, Achyuth Kumar, and Garuda Ram.
With music scored by Kantara-fame composer Ajaneesh Loknath, and with cinematography by AJ Shetty, audiences will witness how Bagheera takes matters into his own hands, blurring the lines between right and wrong.
