Dr Leela Mohan has spent 18 years as a physician, but now he’s turning his focus to cinema. Having always nurtured a passion for the arts, Dr Mohan is stepping into the spotlight with his latest film Naayi Ide Echarike (Beware of the Dog) set for release in December. "I’ve always believed it’s never too late to follow your dreams," he says. "When the opportunity came, I grabbed it."

His journey began with a special role in the TV series Baduku (Life), which reignited his love for acting. "It felt like a dream coming true. I was nervous at first, but once I was on set, I realised how much I loved it," he recalls. This was just the beginning. Dr. Mohan soon made his feature film debut with Kraurya, followed by roles in Gadiyara, Putani Panturu, Ravana, and Ugra Avatar, where he played the role of 'Psycho Sudarshan.'

But Dr. Mohan didn’t stop at acting. He has also ventured into film production, recently producing and starring in Naayi Ide Echarike, a project he’s especially proud of. "I wanted to understand the entire filmmaking process," he explains. "It’s not just about acting. I want to explore every aspect of this industry."

In addition to acting and producing, Dr. Mohan has made his mark as a distributor, overseeing the successful release of the Telugu film Angulika, starring Priyamani, in Karnataka. Now, with Naayi Ide Echarike ready for release, he’s excited to continue building his presence in the industry.

“I want to create opportunities for young filmmakers and actors,” he says. “I’ve been fortunate to follow my dreams, and now I want to help others do the same. It's important to give them the platform they deserve.”

Dr. Mohan’s journey is an example of the idea that dreams have no expiration date. "I chose medicine to help people, and I still do. But now, I have the chance to make an impact in a different way—through storytelling, adding, "If you have a passion, pursue it, no matter where you are in life," he says.
