Fans of Ramya have longed to see her grace the silver screen once again, but it seems they have to wait a bit longer. The actor has decided to step out of Uttarakaanda, the film produced by KRG Studios.

Uttarakaanda is jointly produced by Karthik Gowda and Yogi G Raj, and directed by Rohit Padaki, Ramya was all set to star alongside lead actor Dhananjay in this eagerly anticipated commercial flick, which also features Shivarajkumar. An announcement to this was made in November 2022, and excitement was brewing as rumours hinted that the film would go on floors this April.

However, a note from Ramya has caught her fans off guard. In her social media post, Ramya cited scheduling conflicts as the reason for her departure from Uttarakaanda. “I will not be working on Uttarakaanda due to the unavailability of dates. I’ve put my film and political commitments on hold,” she shared, while also extending her best wishes to the team.

Ramya was recently seen in a cameo appearance in Nitin Krishnamurthy’s Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare. The actor was also in the news for Raj B Shetty’s Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye, the maiden project from her production banner, Apple Studios. However, she opted out of the film just before shooting commenced, with Siri Ravi Kumar stepping in to take her place. The film hit theaters last November. With her departure from yet another intriguing project, fans are left wondering when they will finally witness Ramya’s long-awaited comeback.
