Actor Darshan, currently held in judicial custody at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case, received a visit from his wife Vijayalakshmi and son, followed by actor Vinod Prabhakar. Despite his reluctance to meet visitors, Darshan welcomed a select few from the industry, including his former co-star and close friend Rakshitha, accompanied by her husband, director Prem, on Saturday.
After their visit, Rakshitha spoke to the media, expressing sorrow over the recent unfortunate events. "No one is above the law, and justice must prevail," she asserted. "Our conversation was brief; we simply asked how he was doing."
Director Prem echoed similar sentiments, talking about Darshan's friendship with him and Rakshitha. "Given the legal proceedings, we must refrain from further comment. Our hearts go out to Renukaswamy's family during this difficult time."
Darshan's journey in the film industry began as an assistant to renowned cinematographer B C Gowrishankar, Rakshitha's father. Their professional collaboration blossomed into a special bond, starring together in successful films like Kalasipalya, Ayya, Suntaragaali, and Mandya.
Darshan and director Prem's Kariya (2003) had previously delivered a box office hit, and the actor-director duo were set to reunite after 21 years for a new project under KVN Productions. Alongside this, Darshan had also greenlit another project with Tharun Sudhir. The actor was working on Devil with Prakash Veer, but production has been temporarily halted.
