Darshan Thoogudeepa Shrinivas, currently held at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Bengaluru, is under trial for the murder of S Renuka Swamy. There has been speculation about whether the allegations against Darshan has led his close friends, including some actors from the industry who stood by him during better times, to remain silent on the recent developments. However, actor Vinod Prabhakar, a close friend of Darshan, was the first to visit him in jail, aside from Darshan's family members, including his wife Vijayalakshmi and son Vineesh, recently.

Vinod, speaking after his visit with Darshan, said, "The last time I met Darshan was on his birthday. I tried to visit the Annapoorneshwari police station after the incident, where Darshan was initially held, but was not allowed. When I finally met him, it was a brief meeting. We hugged and shook hands, and he called me Tiger, as usual, while I called him Boss. He was silent."

Expressing condolences to Renuka Swamy's family, Vinod added, "I pray that God gives them strength. This tragedy should not have happened. No one is above the law, and justice should be served for everyone’s sake."

Vinod also addressed his silence on social media, which had been misinterpreted by some in the media. "I've seen comments questioning my silence on Darshan’s situation. People wondered why I hadn't posted anything. If a post could solve the problem, I would have posted a hundred times. But the investigation is ongoing, and I did not want to cause any trouble," he said, stressing the importance of having clarity before making public statements.
