Filmmaker Rakshit Shetty celebrates his birthday on June 6, and his production house, Paramvah Studios, shared an update about the release of its upcoming web series Ekam. The release date of the series is set to be announced on June 17.
"Bringing to you an update about the much awaited web series - Ekam! Keep a close watch on this space!" reads the social media post of Paramvah Studios.
Ekam is the first web series from Kannada to cater to a diverse audience with its release in multiple languages. Produced by Journeyman Films and presented by Paramvah Studios, Ekam is set to premiere on an OTT platform soon. Created by Sandeep PS and Sumanth Bhat, the series' cast includes Prakash Raj, Raj B Shetty, and Shine Shetty, among others. Based in Karnataka's coastal region, it will explore the area's unique culture, dialects, and cuisine. Midhun Mukundan has composed music for the series.
In an initial interview with CE about Ekam, Sumanth shared that it will unfold in the Karavalli belt of Karnataka across eight episodes.
"The essence of the series revolves around coastal life, aimed at resonating with audiences across India," Sumanth explains, drawing parallels with the widespread appeal of Malgudi Days. "Despite being rooted in a specific region, Malgudi Days caught the attention of audiences nationwide. Similarly, we aspire to transcend language barriers with Ekam.
The production house, Paramvah Studios also has Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali, directed by Chandrajith Belliappa and starring Vihan, Ankita Amar, Mayuri Nataraj, and Telugu actor Girija Shettar, getting ready for release.
Meanwhile, Rakshit Shetty is preparing for his next directorial, Richard Anthony, made under the Hombale Films banner, which is currently in the scripting stage.
