The makers of Rajavardan’s Gajarama unveiled the film’s teaser recently. The film marks the directorial debut of Sunil Kumar VA, who has previously worked as an assistant director with Yogaraj Bhat and Suri. The action-packed teaser of Gajarama introduces Rajavardan in the role of a wrestler.

Talking to CE on the sidelines of the teaser release, Rajavardan mentions that the film, set in a village backdrop, is billed to be a sports drama. “Though it involves action, the sports aspect includes both boxing and mat wrestling,” says the actor. The story follows a village youngster who comes to the city, aiming to achieve success in the world of sports. He undergoes training under his master, played by Sharath Lohitashwa.

Opening up about the physical transformation and training he had to undergo for the film, Rajavardan discloses, “Having worked on a historical subject with Bichchugathi: Chapter 1, this sports drama required me to undergo rigorous bodybuilding. I also received training in mud wrestling and got a chance to understand the differences with mat wrestling. It was a challenging task, as it needed to be portrayed realistically on screen so that it translates with authenticity.” With Gajarama set to release soon, the actor also has Pranayam and Hiranya in the pipeline.

Gajarama also stars Thapaswini Poonacha as the female lead and features Shishya Deepak and Shobraj in pivotal roles. The film, produced by Narasimha Murthy, has music composed by Mano Murthy.
