At 62, Shivarajkumar remains one of the most energetic and active actors in the Indian film industry, managing a busy schedule with numerous projects. His latest film, titled Deva, directed by Karthik Adwaith, began with a grand launch event at Kanteerava Studio recently.
The grand muhurath ceremony marked the official start of Shivarajkumar's 131st film, with Sam CS as its music composer. Its promotional content hints at a thrilling action drama with underworld elements, also featuring Gultoo actor Naveen Shankar in a prominent role alongside Shivarajkumar for the first time.
The film's poster features Shivarajkumar in a fresh and striking look. At the muhurath event, Shivarajkumar shared his thoughts on the project, saying, “I first heard the script two years ago, and it took some time to get started due to various reasons. I felt the script needed more work and discussed it with Karthik Adwaith. At this point, I can say the film will give equal importance to all artists and technicians involved.”
He also hinted that the film will explore the story of a character revered as a divine figure but protected by a higher power.
In addition to this project, Shivarajkumar has announced over half a dozen new films. He has a packed schedule, with many films currently in production and others waiting to start shooting.
Shivarajkumar also updated about his ongoing and upcoming projects at the Deva muhurath ceremony. He mentioned that Bhairathi Ranagal will be released next month. After that, he will complete shooting for Arjun Janya’s directorial 45, which features a complex climax involving himself, Upendra, and Raj B Shetty. Despite their busy schedules, they plan to finish 45 by the end of September.
Regarding Uttarakaanda, Shivarajkumar stated that he is fully committed to the project and will allocate dates based on availability. "The cast for Uttarakaanda is quite large, and the team is planning the shoot accordingly. For my 131st film, I’ve given them plenty of dates with minimal breaks. As for Bhairavana Kone Paata, I will start working on it in December," he added.
Shivarajkumar has several other projects in the pipeline, including Jawa, a Telugu film with Ram Charan, Dalavaayi, Shivagana, and IV Returns.
