Ravichandran, widely known as the Crazy Star, who has portrayed diverse characters, has interestingly green-lit a devotional subject. This collaboration marks Ravichandran’s fourth time working with producer NS Rajkumar, following the previous ventures Crazy Star, Kannadiga, and the upcoming Gowri Shankara, which is currently in post-production. This devotional project is set to be bankrolled under the Omkar Movies banner and will be directed by Purushotham Omkar.

Devotional films have become a rarity these times with the last memorable ones featuring late veteran actors like Dr Rajkumar, Vishnuvardhan. Ravichandran has mostly worked in commercial entertainers, except for mythological films like Kurukshetra where he played Krishna. This will be his first foray into the world of devotional films. Further details about the project were revealed to  CE by director on the Crazy Star’s birthday.

Purushotham, a director with 20 years of experience, is known for his work in devotional films, including Jagadguru Shri Renukacharya Mahathme, Gnana Jyothi Sri Siddaganga, Chitradurgada Onnake Obava, Mahasharana Haralayya, Bhakta Shankara, and Haasamba Mahime. In addition to directing, Purushotham has taken multiple responsibilities, such as crafting the story, screenplay, dialogues, and lyrics for the songs.

Confirming the news, the director expresses his excitement about directing a devotional film for Ravichandran. He mentions that the project has kickstarted with a script pooja, and he has been diligently preparing for the project over the past four months. The team plans to commence filming in June.

Purushotham has conceived a unique devotional script, centered around Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheshwara, with Ravichandran playing Vishnu. More details about the project and the diverse characters will be unveiled once the shooting commences.

The makers have approached Bhavana Menon to star alongside Ravichandran in this devotional film. Discussions are also underway regarding the inclusion of Lakshmi Ponnappa and Arachana Kottige, who will play various roles in the movie. The finalisation of the female leads will be dependent on the confirmation of their availability dates, and other terms, says the director.

Meanwhile, the production house has finalised the technicians for the project. Raj Bhaskar has been roped in to compose the music, while DOP Muthuraj will be in charge of the cinematography.

Ravichandran, along with Gowri Shankara, also has The Judgement, in production.
