Earlier, we reported that Sharan would be collaborating with Aravind Kuplikar, the director of the 2021 film Puksate Lifu- Purusotte Ella for a social drama. The latest news is that Yogi Dwarakish Bungale, the producer of Chowka will be bankrolling the film.
Yogi Dwarakish expressed his excitement about backing the project, stated that it was given to him by Tharun Kishore Sudhir, (the creative head of Sharan’s films). “After hearing the story from the director, I felt that it was unique and different, with a beautifully written plotline and good comedy. So, I decided to produce the film.”
Yogi had watched Aravind’s debut film, Puksate Life, and was impressed by its simple story backed with an intelligent concept and screenplay. He is now glad to be collaborating with the director for this interesting project.
In a previous interview with CE, Aravind revealed that the yet-to-be-titled film revolves around a real incident and that Sharan plays an electrician in the film, with Armruth Iyengar as the female lead. The film is a political satire based on a social issue set in the geography of Bagalkot in North Karnataka, with the fictional plotline referring to the Upper Krishna Project. The project resulted in around 20 villages coming under the submerging area, and its impact on the people who owned agricultural land.
The film has Achyuth Kumar, Rangayana Raghu, and Raju Talikote playing prominent roles, with Advaitha Gurumurthy handling the cinematography and Arjun Janya scoring the music for the film.
