Kantara completes 25 days, amasses 77 lakh footfalls in Karnataka

Rishab Shetty's directorial, Kantara, which completed 25 days of theatrical run, has drawn 77 lakh footfalls in Karnataka alone. The film, which breached the Rs 100 crore mark in Kannada recently, is now the most-viewed Kannada film in the State.

Produced by Vijay Kiragandur through Hombale Films, the production house behind the celebrated KGF franchise, Kantara has emerged as another feather in the banner's hat, having achieved success on a National level.

Accomplishments of previous films from the production house include a 65 lakh viewership for Puneeth Rajkumar's Raajakumara, directed by Santhosh Ananddram, in Karnataka. Likewise, KGF: Chapter 1 (2018), starring Yash, and directed by Prashanth Neel, drew 75 lakh viewers to theatres in Karnataka during its release. Its sequel, KGF Chapter 2 accumulated 73 lakh footfalls in the state earlier this year.
Kantara shattered the records of all the previous films from Hombale Films, and the folklore actioner is expected to cross one crore footfalls in the state in the next few weeks.

Reacting to the landmark record set by Kantara, Rishab shares that he is grateful to everyone who celebrated the film in theatres. "Whatever records the film has been creating are because of the audience, and I dedicate Kantara to the people of Karnataka," says a joyous Rishab.

Kantara is a film about the man vs wild conflict, and features Rishab in the lead role, and also stars Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, Pramod Shetty, Prakash Thuminad, Manasi Sudhir, and Mime Ramdas in supporting roles. Ajaneesh Lokanth and Arvind Kashyap have handled the music and cinematography, respectively.
