Actor Samyuktha Hegde, who sustained a ligament tear while shooting for a stunt sequence for the Kannada film Kreem, will undergo surgery to recover from the injury.
Taking to Instagram, the actor posted a video clip of the stunt sequence in which she sustained the injury and wrote, “I tore my ACL And that’s how it happened! We were shooting for a fight sequence, I rehearsed the scene perfectly about 6 times before the take and then on take, I slipped a dot and my knee slipped a little more than a dot, I screamed with a chilling pain and my mind went blank. A few seconds later I couldn’t even understand where the pain was felt from. I’m someone who doesn’t cry for small injuries, I just dust myself off and get back to whatever I was doing but this time I couldn’t. I was on set so my team helped me to the hospital and the doctor looked at me and said it shouldn’t be anything major cause I’d be in a lot of pain and tears if it was.”
Noting that the MRI revealed that her ligament was completely torn, Samyuktha added that the doctors have suggested surgery as the damage is not repairable by itself. She said that her film team including the director and producer have been super supportive.
The actor recently got injured while performing a tricky fight sequence on the sets of the social thriller Kreem. She suffered an ankle twist and knee injury and was rushed to the hospital.
Earlier, the director of the film Abhishek Basanth shared that the actor insisted she did the risky stunts by herself. He went on to clarify that the viral pics of the actor with blood stains are just make-up and she didn't suffer any blood loss.
The actor was discharged after a few hours and taken to her home after a doctor's consultation. The script of Kreem has been written by Agni Sreedhar and it has cinematography by Sunoj Velayudhan. The project is bankrolled by DK Devendra's Sumvardini Productions.
