Suri takes the helm for Kaage Bangara

The title Kaage Bangara has consistently stirred excitement among fans since director Suri’s Kendasampige days, as it was originally intended as part of the trilogy. Even the director’s Popcorn Monkey Tiger hinted that a film bearing this title was in the works. Fans’ anticipation is finally paying off as Suri is all set to direct the long-awaited Kaage Bangara.

Previously, we reported that the director is teaming up with producer Jayanna for a project starring Viraat. Suri and the producers have now finalised the film’s subject, titling it Kaage Bangara. Currently in the pre-production stage, the film is all set to go on floors in June.

Interestingly, Kaage Bangara will also mark the debut of Duniya Vijay’s daughter, Rithanya Vijay. While she is foraying into cinema with Jadeshaa K Hampi’s project with her father, she is all set to make her debut as a female lead with Kaage Bangara.

Producer Jayanna and director Suri officially confirmed the Kaage Bangara project in an interview with CE, sharing their plans ahead. “We wanted to collaborate on a strong project, and Suri has finally come up with something extraordinary that we felt was perfect,” says Jayanna as Suri adds, “Audiences have eagerly awaited the title Kaage Bangara, and now we’re finally bringing it to life.” He further shares, “Every time I’m interviewed, I’m asked about Kaage Bangara, and I always say, ‘Only when I find a producer as precious as gold,’ and I found Jayanna, who shares my vision for Kaage Bangara. With Viraat as the hero, we’ve cast Rithanya Vijay as the heroine. Jadeshaa, who is launching her in his films, showed me a few clips, and I felt she was the perfect fit for the role, and both characters are promising.”

Suri also mentioned that Kaage Bangara will be set in the present and will not have a backstory. “Kaage Bangara will tie up the loose ends left hanging in both Kendasampige and Popcorn Monkey Tiger,” he said, adding that the film will be a high-budget production with extensive set work, promising a visually rich experience. “Several prominent actors will join the project soon, and their names will be announced as they come on board.”

With producers Jayanna and Bogendra backing the project under the Jayanna Films banner, the film will be written by Suri along with Amri and Surendranath while Charan Raj will serve as the music director.
Regarding their other project with Duniya Vijay and Viraat, which has also been in the news, both the director and producer mentioned that it is in the pipeline but will commence once the actors fulfil their current commitments.
