Darshan: I never chase the shadow of past triumphs

Celebrating his birthday amidst the glittering lights of stardom, with his fans (celebrities, according to him), Challenging Star Darshan finds himself in a whirlwind of triumphs and reflections. This year, the festivities were amplified as he basked in the glow of multiple successes. Apart from the victory of blockbuster Kaatera, which marked 50 days at the box office on February 16, a first-look teaser of his forthcoming venture, Devil-The Hero is out. There are updates on his other lineups like with director Tharun Sudhir’s D59 based on historical freedom fighter Sindhoora Lakshmana, produced by Media House Studio, Prem’s upcoming film produced by KVN Productions, to name a few. Amidst the fanfare, the Challenging Star also marks a significant milestone, commemorating 25 illustrious years in the industry, a journey that has seen him grace the screens in over 55 films. The actor feels it’s just the beginning of an endless odyssey filled with infinite possibilities.

Reflecting on this extraordinary journey, Darshan remarks, “It’s been a ride filled with highs and lows, moments of glory and instances of humility. Yet, amidst it all, my greatest achievement remains the unwavering support and love of my fans, my celebrities.” To cite his own example, his career path is strikingly reminiscent of his own saying, ‘I started riding a Luna, and today I drive a Lamborghini.’ The actor’s journey speaks volumes about the transformative power of perseverance and dedication. “Luck plays no part in anybody’s journey,” he asserts, “It’s sheer hard work that propels one forward in any field. Those who rely solely on favourable chances often find themselves fading into obscurity.”

Navigating through a plethora of roles and characters, Darshan takes pride in his works from Majestic to Kaatera, every role has come to him “Every character, I play is a fresh canvas, waiting to be coloured by the director’s vision,” he explains, adding, “Whether it’s embodying the goodness of a hero or delving into the complexities of a darker persona, I approach each role with an open mind and a willingness to explore.” Amidst the accolades for Kaatera and the anticipation surrounding Devil- The Hero, Darshan remains grounded, emphasising the transient nature of success. “Each film stands on its own merit,” he declares, “I never chase the shadow of past triumphs. Instead, I focus on delivering my best in every project, ensuring that both producers and audiences alike leave satisfied.”

As the spotlight shines brighter with each success, Darshan remains unfazed by the chatter surrounding his personal life. “What matters to me is the impact I make through my craft,” he states. “The rest is just noise.”
