Rachel David, who is juggling between Malayalam and Kannada industries, marked her debut with Love Mocktail 2, is delighted with the projects coming her way. One of her upcoming films is Chef Chidambara, directed by Anand Raj, which features Aniruddha Jatkar in the titular character. When asked about her interest in taking up this role, which is billed to be a bubbly character, and sharing screen space with a more experienced actor like Aniruddha, Rachel says, “This question did cross my mind, and I discussed it with director Anand Raj.

I asked if the age difference would matter on screen. I also had some anxiety because I had never met Aniruddha before. However, Anand Raj assured me that he had done his homework, and our pairing would undoubtedly work.” Rachel further added, “I believe that in the present time, age should not hinder someone from being a love interest on screen. What matters most to me is the content. I aim to ado something entirely different from my previous films. Whether I am paired with a new or experienced actor, my main concern is how much my character will be valued. In this case, I purely went with the director’s instincts.”

The makers recently unveiled the first look featuring Aniruddha and the shooting is set to begin with the muhurath function on August 10. Rachel David will join the sets on August 12. The film also stars Nidhi Subbiah as part of the principal cast.

Besides Chef Chidambara, Rachel is also part of Bhuvanam Gaganam, Unlock Raghava, and an
upcoming project, Country Pistol, which is yet to begin shooting.
