In an update evoking excitement among Dragon Ball fans, Dragon Ball Super is returning after a decade of inactivity on television with three projects. In the recently held Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event, marking the 40th anniversary of the franchise, it was announced that a new Dragon Ball Super anime series, adapting the Galactic Patrol and God of Destruction Beerus Saga. On the video game front, AGE 1000 was unveiled and is set to host new characters.

Described as a faithful show to the vision of late creator Akira Toriyama, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will have its TV premiere late in 2026. The second project, Dragon Ball Super: Galactic Patrol, is currently under development.

Dragon Ball Super is a Japanese manga series written by Akira Toriyama and illustrated by Toyotarou. The anime series that began in 2018 was put on hold since 2018, but the manga series continued till Toriyama's demise in 2024.

The Dragon Ball Super fans, however, weren't left high and dry as the anime films Dragon Ball Super: Broly (2018) and Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero (2022) got them covered. Broly followed the events between the last arc of the animated series and before the Galactic Patrol arc.
