
Johnny Depp is venturing onto a new project as the he onboards a graphic novel adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, titled Mr Hyde. The project comes from director Ridley Scott, and is set to release on October 31.
Mr Hyde is the alter ego of Dr Jekyll, who drinks a potion to hide his evil characteristics. The potion instead turns Jekyll into malevolent figure named Mr Hyde. The new graphic novel series, will feature Depp's likeliness for Mr Hyde.
In a statement to Variety, Depp said, “To build within the world of Robert Louis Stevenson’s masterful characters and to be welcomed into the vision of Ridley Scott… and inexplicably having the opportunity to explore, it’s surprising to me. And hopefully surprising to him. It’s insane and beautiful to receive that trust from Ridley. A master.”
Depp, and Scott will co-own the project which is backed by Scott's company Mechanical Cake.
