Fire and Ice Media, based in the Philippines, has sold the rights to distribute Crosspoint, director Donie Ordiales' film starring Carlo Aquino and Shogun fame Hira Takehiro, in the Asia-Pacific region. The film is slated for an October 16 release in the Philippines, after which it will stream on Netflix.

The aforesaid Philippines-based company and Netflix came to the agreement at the recent Asian Contents and Film Market, near the Busan International Film Festival.

The plot follows Aquino's character, a once-famous actor known as Manuel Hidalgo, who faces a slump in his career following his illegal performances in pubs in the Philippines and goes to Japan. There, he meets Takehiro's character, construction manager Shigeru, who faces bankruptcy. The two men see a report regarding a fleeing serial killer whom Hidalgo knows. Seeing an opportunity to end their financial troubles, the two try to track the serial killer down so that they can claim the financial reward concerned.
