Hayao Miyazaki's How Do You Live? gets new international title

Japanese filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki's final and upcoming film How Do You Live? has been rechristened as The Boy and the Heron as it international title, while the film is set to hit the theatres in America soon.

Attached to Studio Ghibli, the makers had chosen not to release any promotional material ahead of the release. However, it has been speculated that the film is based on Genzaburo Yoshino’s 1937 book Kimitachi wa Do Ikiruka which is about a teenage boy going through a spiritual journey, as he begins to understand life and its meaning through a journal related to his uncle. While Gkids has denied the film's any relation to the book, it was quoted as saying, "The film is an original story written and directed by Miyazaki."

The film's Japanese title is Kimitachi wa Do Ikiruka. It will be distributed by Gkids in North America. While a release date is yet to be announced worldwide, the film hit the Japan theatres on July 14.
