Netflix releases trailer of Japanese film Once Upon a Crime

Netflix released the trailer of its upcoming Japanese film Once Upon a Crime on social media recently. The film follows the fairy tale story of Little Red Riding Hood, but with a twist, where she assumes the role of a sleuth to solve the case of Cinderella.

“The plot is both daring and imaginative, with Red Riding Hood as the intrepid protagonist on a mission to uncover the culprit of a crime set in the enchanting world of a beloved fairy tale. While at the royal ball with Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood finds herself in the middle of a mystery. Can she solve the case before midnight strikes?” reads the logline.

The film is directed by Yuichi Fukuda, with the lead role played by Kanna Hashimoto. Cinderella will be played by Yuko Araki, while Takanori Iwata will play the prince. Once Upon A Crime is expected to be a fantasy-comedy-mystery film. It is based on the original novel Akazukin, Tabi no Tochu de Shitai to Deau by Aito Aoyagi.

Once Upon a Crime will premiere on Netflix on September 14.
