From Shah Rukh Khan to Chiranjeevi, Indian celebs wish Argentina and Messi for FIFA World Cup win 

On Sunday, the world celebrated Argentina's win against France in the FIFA World Cup. Lionel Messi’s Argentina team lifted the cup in the final match that happened in Qatar after it last won in 1986. The country bet France 4-2 during the penalties after the match ended with 3-3.

While India did not have a role as a participant during the sport tournament, it had a significant presence, with Hindi actor Deepika Padukone gracing the event, to unveil the World Cup, on Sunday. Apart from Deepika, the event was attended by several celebrities like Mohanlal, Mammootty, Nora Fatehi, Ranvir Singh, among others.  While these celebrities witnessed the match in person, several others back home, celebrated the success through social media.

Shah Rukh Khan tweeted, “We are living in the time of one of the best World Cup Finals ever. I remember watching WC with my mom on a small tv….now the same excitement with my kids!! And thank u Messi for making us all believe in talent, hard work & dreams!!”

Calling it a “glorious final” Mohanlal wrote, “Two worthy opponents, played their hearts out and gave the millions of football fans a nerve-wracking match. Congratulations #Argentina on a hard won victory. 36 years of toil and the cup is once again yours.” He added, “Messi has kept his date with destiny and will bow out in glory. A glorious last dance...Kudos to the French team for being such worthy opponents and for the great fight they put up till the end. Thank you FIFA for a season of thrill, see you again in 2026.”

Actor Dhanush called it “probably the happiest day of this year”, and said, “Messi! Fairy tale endings are possible!! The most deserving. Di Maria stepped up when mattered, and Emi Martinez the Hero of this match! Or even the World Cup!!”

Another ardent football fan, Chiranjeevi cheered Argentina team and Messi for their win. “Been in the making for 36 years! So well deserved!! Real tribute to the Legend DiegoMaradona!!  And Mbappe what a historic, memorable hattrick!! Better luck next time France!!!”

Several others also congratulated the team on their win.
